Learning Pathways Survey

Until December 12, 2022, District School Board Ontario North East (DSB1) invites you to complete the Learning and Pathways Survey brought to you by your DSB1 Student Trustees.

This survey is open to all current and past students to share their experiences with e-Learning and Programs in Adult and Continuing Education (PACE) Courses.

Attendance Matters

Working together to take action to support students is essential for addressing absenteeism, enrollment declines and educational inequities.

ONE and Only Me Survey

DSB1 is committed to providing equitable learning environments so that all students can achieve personal excellence. To achieve this, we must truly understand the needs of our students and their families.

We are pleased to announce that we are launching the “ONE and Only Me” survey for all families and students to complete by December 2nd, 2022.

Inaugural Board Meeting

The District School Board Ontario North East (DSB1) inaugural meeting of the Board of Trustees occurred on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. The meeting, which took place at the Schumacher Board Office, began with a procession into the board room led by Trustee Meunier who provided a bagpipe entrance.

Labour Updates

On Sunday, November 20, 2022, a tentative agreement was reached for the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE).

As a result, CUPE will not take any job action and all DSB1 schools will remain open. Further, there will be no disruption to student learning or any school-related activities.

Attendance Matters Campaign

District School Board Ontario North East (DSB1) is launching a campaign to work to provide support, remove barriers and encourage in-person learning focused on achieving strong attendance to enhance the passion for learning throughout schools.

Virtual Fall Keynote

On Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., District School Board Ontario North East (DSB1) and Northern College invite you to attend a collaboratively hosted Virtual Fall Keynote featuring acclaimed author Tanya Talaga.

Treaties Recognition Week

This week, District School Board Ontario North East (DSB1) joins our community in acknowledging and honouring Treaties Recognition Week, which takes place annually during the first complete week of November. Across DSB1, students learn about the significance of treaties and the critical role and purpose they serve.
