Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) Healthcare students from Timmins High & Vocational School, Englehart High School, and Timiskaming District Secondary School had the incredible opportunity to travel to Toronto and attend the SickKids AI & Medicine Student Conference.
Over two days at the Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning, students heard from leading researchers, toured state-of-the-art laboratories, explored cutting-edge medical research, and learned how artificial intelligence is transforming healthcare. They participated in hands-on AI application stations, engaged with healthcare professionals and researchers, and discovered the exciting possibilities that exist within healthcare, technology, and medical research careers.
A special thank you to SickKids and Dell Technologies for providing our students with this unique and inspiring learning experience. Opportunities like this help students connect classroom learning to real-world careers while exploring the innovations that will shape the future of healthcare.
We are proud of our students for representing their schools so well and for embracing this incredible experiential learning opportunity!
