Celebrating the Olympics

The students of Temagami Public School combined learning and fun as they celebrated the Olympics. Through Olympics-style measurement activities, they practiced math skills while staying active and working as a team!

SHMS Welding

Students at Timmins High and Vocational School in the SHSM Welding class recently had the exciting opportunity to tour the underground operations at Lake Shore Gold’s Bell Creek site. Through this hands-on experience, students explored real-world mining processes and saw firsthand how skilled trades like welding play a vital role in safe and efficient operations.

Specialist High Skill Major

The gym at Timmins High and Vocational School was buzzing as Grades 9–11 students explored everything Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) has to offer at the 2026 SHSM Expo. With interactive booths representing Construction, Welding, Healthcare, Culinary, Business, ICT, Arts & Culture, Manufacturing, as well as Co-op, Dual Credit, and OYAP.

Northern Connections: THVS Students Journey to Moosonee for Learning and Leadership

From the snowy tracks of the Polar Bear Express to the warm community rinks of the North, students from Timmins High & Vocational School (THVS) recently embarked on a transformative journey to Moosonee and Moose Factory.
