2.0 Definitions
3.0 Policy
It is important that all students experience a safe, caring, inclusive and accepting school environment, in order to reach their full potential. DSB1 is committed to building positive school environments for students, and all members of the school community. We will promote and support appropriate and positive behaviours, and will not accept bullying, which has a negative impact on school climate. Where positive practices might not be effective or sufficient to address inappropriate behaviour, the Board supports the use of progressive discipline consequences. The Board also supports the use of suspension and expulsion as outlined in Part XIII of the Education Act where necessary.
