OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY

1.0             Rationale

Providing safe working conditions and preventing personal injury or occupational illness for all staff members is of the utmost importance.

The need to maintain equipment and facilities in a safe condition is acknowledged.

All individuals at all levels and functions in the Board’s workplaces must accept the responsibility of providing safe working conditions for all staff and ensuring that safety procedures are followed and proper training is provided.

District School Board Ontario North East (DSB1) accepts the responsibilities as an employer as outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario and as possibly contained in respective collective agreements.

DSB1 is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for all staff members. All health and safety initiatives will be subject to the Occupational Health and Safety Procedure 1.2.17.
