Indigenous Veterans Day
Today, on Indigenous Veterans Day, we honour the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples who have served and continue to serve in the Canadian Armed Forces.
From the World Wars and peacekeeping missions to modern service, Indigenous veterans have stepped forward with extraordinary bravery, resilience, and strength, even in the face of inequity and discrimination at home.
First recognized in Manitoba in 1994, today serves as a vital reminder to honour their sacrifices, celebrate their heritage, and remember their lasting contributions to Canada.
