Secondary Curriculum

District School Board Ontario North East recognizes that students need to be able to apply what they have learned in real life situations. As a result there is a continued focus on providing learning opportunities that allow students to use their knowledge and skills in a connected manner.

The curriculum expectations for grades 9 to 12 are outlined on the Ministry of Education website in considerable detail. Secondary course profiles for grades 9 to 12 are also available for teachers.

The document Course Descriptions and Prerequisites, Grades 9-12 is available online and in your school.

The Ontario Curriculum Unit Planner offers access to many units for split grades as well as regular classes in the areas of Mathematics, Social Studies, Science & Technology, and Language. Units are available as planner units and PDF files.

Provincial training resources for Mathematics, Guidance & Career Education and Business Studies are available through DocuShare. Click here to access the resources on DocuShare. Teachers must sign in to DocuShare in order to access the resources.
