Indigenous Peoples' Advisory Committee Mandate 

  • To advise DSB1 on programs and services related to Student who identify as Indigenous with a focus on individual student achievement and the retention and success of Students who identify as Indigenous, and on incorporating and raising cultural awareness and respect for Indigenous Peoples in our schools and Board.
  • To be comprised of quorum representatives from each Indigenous community with a Reciprocal Education Agreement with DSB1
  • Indigenous, Métis and Inuit community associations/organizations are invited to participate (non-quorum members)
  • To ensure the Committee’s deliberations and recommendations are undertaken with integrity and in compliance with its obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code and related policies
