Threads of Care: Timmins Quilters Guild Sew and Donate Sensory Quilts for Autism Acceptance Month

Each quilt is a unique creation, pieced together with a variety of textures and vibrant colors. Understanding the diverse needs of the students, the quilters even integrated "chewy corners" into the designs, offering a safe and discreet outlet for oral sensory seeking.

Students were thrilled to have the opportunity to choose their very own quilt! Watching them immediately start exploring the textures and "discovering" their new favorite comfort item was a beautiful reminder of what acceptance looks like in action.

W. Earle Miller Public School extends a heartfelt thank you to Jo-Lene, Helene, and the entire Timmins Quilters Guild. Your talent and generosity have not only provided our students with comfort but have wrapped our school community in a sense of true belonging.
