Students engaged in hands-on activities, learning about minted dates of Canadian coins and how pennies have been withdrawn from circulation.
Students learning of currency was reinforced through the "¢ents Of Humour - ¢ha-Ching!" video showcasing music produced by Timmins High and Vocational School music department.
Carole Horton shares, "Students listened very well and had great questions. Students were really interested in the different coins, and most of the younger learners were introduced to pennies because they had been discontinued before they were even born! I was so warmly welcomed into classrooms by students and staff at Schumacher Public School".
Carole thanked Lynn Woito's class for the use of their classroom by creating an art piece made of pennies to represent their pet snail, Gary.
