Treaties Recognition Week

Wampum belts can serve as visual reminders of these agreements and are often displayed during treaty negotiations and commemorations. Wampum belts are sometimes used as educational tools to teach Indigenous history and stories. They can represent historical events, teachings, or important figures in Indigenous traditions.

DSB1 students apply their learning of treaties and the significant role that wampum belts play by creating visual depictions of wampum belts.
