Truth and Reconciliation Week

In DSB1, we work hard to ensure that age-appropriate resources are available to support mandatory curriculum content relating to residential schools, treaties and contemporary issues for First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples in Canada.

Staff take an active role in working towards representation and inclusion. Changes in the curriculum at all levels encourage students to explore how their individual stories contribute to a larger narrative of citizenship and advocacy.

In an action of ReconciliACTION, we acknowledge the impactful contributions and the rich and diverse cultures, voices, experiences and stories of the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. We recognize the inspiring achievements and accomplishments of our DSB1 students, staff, and families and the talented individuals who identify as First Nation, Métis, and Inuit that shape our Canadian culture.
