Across DSB1, we celebrate the diverse range of languages spoken by our students, staff, and families and recognize the power of language to CONNECT and communicate with others.
DSB1 is proud to offer learning in Core French or French Immersion across all schools, in addition to Cree language classes at Timmins High and Vocational School, R. Ross Beattie Senior Public School, Schumacher Public School, École Secondary Cochrane High School, Cochrane Public School, Diamond Jubilee Public School, Kapuskasing District High School, and Anishinaabemowin language classes at Timiskaming District Secondary School.
In an example of multilingual language learning, students TAKE NOTICE of language and expression in creating greeting cards written in Anishinaabe in their Anishinaabemowin language class.
