Mayor For a Day

Students at JHKPS participated in an engaging presentation about their local township and the role of a mayor, which brought Social Studies to life. They were then challenged by the Mayor of Matheson and Executive Assistant Allana Schmidt to share what changes they would make as Mayor for a Day, and Teaghan, a Grade 6 student, was selected as the winner and earned the opportunity to serve in that role.

Happy Earth Day

Today, we celebrate our planet and recognize the responsibility we all share to protect it. In DSB1, we are committed to fostering sustainable practices and building a future where our communities and the environment thrive together.

Let’s take action big or small towards a healthier, greener world. Every step counts, and together, we can make a lasting impact!

Administrative Professionals Day

On Administrative Professionals Day, we celebrate the dedication, organization, and care that keep our schools and workplaces running smoothly. Behind every successful day is a team of professionals who support, connect, and uplift those around them.

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to creating welcoming environments for students, families and staff!

National Volunteer Week

During National Volunteer Week, we want to recognize another group that helped create an incredible learning experience for our students.
