Students continue to participate in cultural learning days with elder Lindsay Cote. Recently Lindsay shared with students the importance of drums to the Anishinaabe culture. Lindsay spoke about how the drum reflects the heartbeat of mother earth and just like every individual, each drum has it’s own unique voice and look . Students began to learn from their drum from the moment they sat down with it. Teaching patience, imperfection and pride. Lindsay and his partner also shared songs with the participating students.
We would like to thank the Board for their support with this project and Lindsay for these unique learning experiences. Miigwetch!
