Public Speaking Contest

​ Students at Smooth Rock Falls Public School marked National Flag of Canada day on Friday, February 15th.  Students learned about the history of our flag and re-created the flag using Canadian road maps.   Great work!

Smoothie Day at SRFPS

​On Friday January 25th, the students at Smooth Rock Falls Public School were able to enjoy a cold refreshing berry & yogurt fruit smoothie.  They enjoyed it so much, that a second round had to be made! Building Buddies

On Friday, January 25th, instead of having our weekly "Reading Buddy" program, we had "Building Buddies!" Students from both classes worked collaboratively to build various structures, including a rocket, a swing, a marble run, a bridge and a tower! Great job everyone!

2018 Remembrance Day Poster Contest

Royal Canadian Legion ON#305 members Audrey Tremblay and Bruce Carmichael were at S.R.F.P.S. today to present prizes to the students who participated their 2018 Remembrance Day Poster Contest.  Prizes were given to all who participated, and we would like to thank them for their generosity!

Thanksgiving Bake-Off

​On October 5th, SRFPS had a Thanksgiving Pie Bake-Off competition.  All of the students worked together in teams to bake various kinds of pies.  Mr. Forsythe, Mrs. Meilleur and Mrs. Sauve were our taste testing judges!  A tough decision but the apple pie won, just by a slice!!

​National Hunting, Trapping, & Fishing Heritage Day 2018 To mark the heritage and contributions of these activities to northern Ontario culture, economy, and dinner table students and staff wore camo, green, or fishing related clothing on Sept 14. Cochrane Field Trip

Students and staff of SRFPS along with a few wonderful volunteers participated in an amazing field trip to Cochrane.  They started their day with a visit to the Polar Bear Habitat and Heritage Village, ordered lunch from Harvey's/Swiss Chalet and then went swimming at the Tim Horton Event Centre Pool.
