Our Mental Health & Well-being Team understands that students may be experiencing a wide range of emotions and questions during these uncertain and unprecedented times.   Encourage your child to join them for weekly seminars designed to support their well-being and strengthen their resiliency.   Below is the schedule for the week of August 4 to 7, 2020.  To participate, email Lisa Nixon at lisa.nixon@dsb1.ca. 


Tuesday, August 4:  Learn to improve your sleep habits

  • Students in Grades 4 to 8: 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Students in Grades 9 to 12: 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Wednesday, August 5: Learn about empathy
  • Students in Grades 4 to 8: 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Wednesday, August 5: Learn about positive communication
  • Students in Grades 9 to 12: 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Thursday, August 6: Participate in and learn about meditation
  • Students in Grades 4 to 8: 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Thursday, August 6: Learn how to catch yourself when falling into thinking traps
  • Students in Grades 9 to 12: 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Friday, August 7: Learn innovative ways to tackle your challenges
  • Students in Grades 4 to 8: 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Students in Grades 9 to 12: 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
