On June 5th, Kapuskasing District High School will play host to the “Amazing Entrepreneurial Race”, with assistance from the local Head Start in Business. The race is designed to create excitement about entrepreneurship in secondary school students. Students from the Northern and Central region schools will be challenged to complete activities at stations that focus on entrepreneurial skills. Participating students from KDHS, Ecole Secondaire Cochrane High, Iroquois Falls Secondary School, Roland Michener Secondary School and Timmins High and Vocational School will compete in the event for a chance to take home some awesome prizes.
The themed activity stations include: team building, networking, idea generating, risk taking, problem solving and business start-up.
Our goal is to introduce participants to the characteristics, qualities, and attitudes of an entrepreneur through experiential learning activities.
A big thank you to the main funders of the event: Kapuskasing District High School, District School Board Ontario North East, and Head Start in Business and its many stakeholders who continuously offer their support in bringing entrepreneurial opportunities to youth across Northern Ontario.
These entrepreneurship programs are part of Head Start in Business (formerly the Northern Ontario Youth Entrepreneurship Initiative) provided by Northern Ontario Community Futures Development Corporations.
