KLDCS Students explain this year's Skills Ontario robotics competition!

October 06, 2021

Students at Kirkland Lake District Composite School created a video to explain this year's Skills Ontario robotics competition! 🤩

A message from the Technical Co-Chairs for the Skills Ontario Robotics competition:

ā€œ Iā€™m one of the Technical Co-Chairs for the Skills Ontario Robotics competition. Iā€™m responsible for designing one of two challenges and running the provincial competition.  I try to involve students in as many aspects of running the event as possible.  After the scope was set, I gave it to Harrison, Joe and Kharis to produce an overview video of the scope.  This year's theme was gold mining which was right up our ally.   We were able to reuse some of the footage from a video project we did a few years ago about the mining process at KL Gold. The students had to write a script, record and edit all the video and then do it all again in French.  The students are all planning on helping me run the event in the Spring. ā€œ  - Dan Kurz, Skills Ontario Robotics Technical Co-Chair
