Mr. Warring's grade 11 English class at Timiskaming District Secondary School (TDSS) is currently working to bring awareness to the issue of missing and murdered indigenous women (MMIW) across Canada.
The class decided to create the Red Feather Project. Today. 100 red feathers were strung in the main entrance of the school. The class is working on a banner that will included all names of MMIW in Canada. The class will be encouraging other classes within TDSS to assist in hanging red feathers, with the hopes of eventually having a feather for each MMIW.
