Education Week and Mental Health Week 2019 was a resounding success in DSB1 schools. Our students and staff had so many opportunities to connect, take notice, be active, keep learning and give. Thank you to all of our staff for their work in offering opportunities anchored in our priorities of innovation, equity and culture.
Here is just a glimpse into the activities that took place on the closing day of this important week:
- Roland Michener Secondary School officially launched its Elements Program and Choose Your Own Adventure.
- Golden Avenue Public School students baked cookies and handed them to the support staff a the school to thank them for all that they do each day.
- R. Ross Beattie Public School welcomed elders and community partners for a day of learning on the land. Lead by the Cree class, the day was filled with learning and fun for all students.
- Timmins High and Vocational School hosted a painting party! No mistakes were made, just happy little accidents!
