The Cree Class at R. Ross Beattie Public School hosted a day of learning on the land as part of Education Week.
The class welcomed elders from the community and community partners for the day. Misiway Health Centre set up the Teepee where a nice fire kept our students and guests warm while cooking an amazing lunch.
Our students learned about preparing traditional foods such as bannock, worked on beading projects, connected with elders and had a meaningful opportunity to practice the Cree language.
Thank you to our partners Misiway Health Centre, Timmins Native Friendship Centre and Ojibway and Cree Cultural Centre for your support in creating an unforgettable learning experience for our students.
