Schools across our communities took part in Bell Let's Talk Day on January 29th. Staff, students and family took to social media to share kindness and foster open dialogue about mental health.
Schools hosted activities to celebrate the day and support mental health and well-being for students and staff.
Grade 5 and 6 students at Golden Avenue Public School wrote positive messages about mental health and well-being. The school's CYW also shared positive messages with the staff.
New Liskeard Public School held presentations on mental health and well-being in every class. Presentations were adapted to each grade and spaked important conversations.
Timmins Centennial Public School Students raised over $500 for the local Canadian Mental Health Association as part of Bell Let's Talk Day. They presented a cheque to Mark Lionello, Program Manager at CMHA. The staff also had a grand re-opening of their staff room, with their lunch graciously donated by KISS FM and Mike's Restaurant!
The Kirkland Lake District Composite School Jack Chapters prepared hot chocolate and healthy snacks for their fellow students. They also wrote what mental health means to them on Bell Let's Talk speech bubbles.
