Mr. Kilroy's Grade 4/5 students at Federal PS hosted a culminating Feast as part of the 10 week Walking the Path program. Walking the Path teaches empathy, self esteem and inclusivity through an Indigenous perspective.
"Walking the Path addresses the belief that young people who have the self-respect and self-confidence to function independently are better prepared to cope with negative influences or peer pressure." Students learn about the Medicine Wheel, the seven Grandfather teachings and Indigenous culture with the aim of empowering all students to exercise better decision making and in turn, creating a welcoming and inclusive school atmosphere.
Thank you to Ms. Gaudaur, Indigenous Student Advisor, and congratulations grade 4/5 on completing the program!
