Mme Ryan's class is so grateful for all the wonderful donations given to their project "Sacs d'amour". We would like to give a big thank you to all the families at Bertha Shaw Public School, to Mrs. Dianne Gaudreau and to Mme Lynda Mitchell. Due to your generosity, The class was able to surpass their goal of 30 sacs d'amour (care bags). We collected 44 pyjamas, more than 200 pairs of socks and many more special items. These donations will allow Project Love to give special birthday gifts to children and to help many families in need.
Mme Ryan's Grade 1 class and Mme McKechnie's Grade 2 class wrote letters to Home Depot to persuade them to join Bertha Shaw Public School in giving Project Love «The best Christmas ever! ». Home Depot accepted our request and donated a beautiful Christmas tree with lights. Both classes made decorations for the tree and some for the hall. The students were super excited to hop on a bus and go decorate Project Love. We were able to place 33 sacs d'amour (care bags) under the tree and drop off all of the donations collected during « Project sacs d'amour ».
We really enjoyed working on this project. We are now experts at sorting and counting and had fun watching our class store grow. What a wonderful experience!
