The Wiesenthal Centre’s Tour for Humanity recently made stops at both Pinecrest and Golden Avenue Public Schools. This was the first time the tour stopped in Timmins. Grade 5 and 6 students were invited onto a bus equipped with a video wall, where they received a gentle introduction concerning the treatment of Jewish people during World War Two. They also learned about Wiesenthal -- a Jewish architect from Austria who was sent to a concentration camp, survived the Holocaust, and later became a Nazi hunter.
