DSB1 - Cancellations
Schools and School Groups have exclusive use of their facilities from 7am to 5pm on weekdays, and have priority use over user groups outside of school hours. While the school will do its best to honour an approved permit, there are times when the school will require its facilities at the last minute. In this instance, DSB1 reserves the right to cancel a permit, or date(s) within a permit, if the space is required for a school or board program. DSB1 assumes no responsibility for expenses, distress, disappointment, frustration and/or inconvenience resulting from cancellations or alterations to permits.
Incelment Weather Cancellations
All Community Use of Schools activities will be cancelled on inclement weather days (school bus cancellations), even if the school remains open. Notification will be sent via email as soon as possible on the morning of the cancellation. If a rental is cancelled due to weather, no charges will be incurred.
Community User Group - Contract Changes, Cancellations and No-Shows
DSB1 requests that any contract changes and or alterations be requested as soons as possible to ensure availability of staff, facilities and equipment.
A permit holder may cancel a rental without cost, provided that communication (email (preferred) or phone call) is provided to the Community Use of Schools Outreach Coordinator a minimum of five (5) business days prior to the event. If adequate notice is not provided, the rental fee and other incurred costs may be charged.
If a permit holder does not utilize their rented space, and there was no notice of cancellation provided, the rental and other incurred costs may be charged.
