1.0 Rational
District School Board Ontario North East (DSB1) endorses the use of purchasing cards as a tool to improve efficiencies and effectiveness in the purchase of low dollar value goods and services.
2.0 Definitions
Purchasing Card: a commercial card used for the purchase of low dollar value goods and services for District School Board Ontario North East business needs.
Purchasing Card Coordinator: Manager of Financial Services
Cardholder: Employee authorized as a purchasing card user
3.0 Policy
It is the policy of District School Board Ontario North East (DSB1) to provide guidance on the use of purchasing cards to ensure acceptable levels of control and accountability guiding the oversight of public resources. This policy will address the procurement and payment of low dollar value goods and services.
