The naming or renaming of a new or consolidated school is an important event that occurs on occasion when the district is fortunate to have a new construction of a school facility.
On occasion, schools are combined to address changes in program or demographics. The Naming of School Policy does not apply when construction of a new facility does not occur, even though students of a school are attached to an existing school and facility. In this instance incoming students will adopt the name of the existing facility.
