Procedure 1.2.20 ADVOCACY

Procedures - 

1.0 The Board will support the advocacy role of established professional and educational interest organizations as appropriate. 

2.0 The Board will participate in activities that encourage open and ongoing communication, the exchange of information and the provision of input into issues of common interest to the Board, its education partners and government. 

3.0 The Board may develop and approve strategies and activities to present its position on issues affecting the Board and the public education system to its partners. 

4.0 The use of Board funds to support public advocacy for person or partisan political agendas, or to promote, or target a political party, candidate, or organization is prohibited. 

5.0 Expenditures in support of advocacy shall be reasonable in size and shall not adversely affect expenditures in support of student success and achievement.
