Supervised Alternative Learning Committee Mandate
- to consider the excusing of students who are at least 14 years old from compulsory attendance at a school within the jurisdiction of DSB1
- to review individual student circumstances and make determinations regarding alternative learning opportunities for students who may be excused from compulsory attendance at school
- to reconsider a committee decision, if requested by a parent, regarding student participation in an alternative learning program
- to ensure the Committee’s deliberations and recommendations are undertaken with integrity and in compliance with its obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code and related policies
- to consider a recommendation to renew a supervised alternative learning plan
- to maintain complete confidentiality with respect to the Committee’s work
