Student Achievement and Well-being Mandate 

  • to consider matters related to learning, achievement, equity and well-being of all DSB1 students
  • to review programs, processes and Ministry plans (e.g., Student Achievement Plan (SAP) and Math Action Plan (MAP) to examine disparities in outcomes as they relate to student achievement and well-being for students who are most marginalized
  • to consider staff reports regarding proposed interventions and other processes to address disparities in learning outcomes
  • to consider staff reports regarding the effectiveness of student programs
  • to consider recommendations for new programs
  • to consider reports on educational programs from an equity, inclusion and anti-oppression lens
  • to consider reports regarding staffing needs related to student programs and associated budget implications
  • to be aware of the programs provided to support student achievement and well-being, including curricular and co-curricular choice for students available in the Board’s schools
  • to ensure the Committee’s deliberations and recommendations are undertaken with integrity and in compliance with its obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code and related policies
  • to consider delegations in accordance with the DSB1 By-law
