Welcome to the K-12 Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) for eLearning and blended learning at District School Board Ontario North East.
As part of a new initiative to ensure access to as wide a variety of courses as possible, District School Board Ontario North East is launching several integrated eLearning courses which will blend some of the supports of a face to face classroom with the flexibility and accessibility of eLearning.
In addition to DSB Ontario North East's extensive eLearning offerings we have also partnered with several other boards of education and are able to provide our students with access to dozens of additional courses through their eLearning programs.

How Do I Register?
Students are registered by their guidance counselor who will determine whether eLearning is the best method of course delivery. Once registered, students are enrolled overnight into the course.

How can I sign up for an online course?
You can sign up for an online course through your guidance counselor. Students within the North Eastern eLearning Consortium can sign up through their guidance counselors who will use Seat Reservation System (SRS); otherwise, you must be a student in this school board. All other requests must be sent to the Student Success Administrator. Currently, we only offer ‘day school under 19’ elearning.
When can I sign up for an online course?
See your guidance counselors in your local high schools to sign up for online courses. Registration occurs in the spring and fall during the school year. Course changes can be made until about the third week of September.
I cannot log into my course. Who do I contact?
First try the ‘Forgot your password?’ link on the login portal to receive a reset link to your GSuite email. You will need to be able to login to that account. If you are in a blended learning class, it is possible to ask your teacher to reset your password manually on the Classlist page. If you still cannot get in, use the Support Request’ link above. You will receive an email to your GSuite email with instructions. If you cannot get into your GSuite email, see your school IT person as soon as possible!
How do I contact my teacher?
Within the VLE there are two ways you can reach your teacher--email or pager. The pager can be used if you notice your teacher online and want to ask a question immediately. Otherwise use the built in email. Note that it is possible to send email from her to external email; however, you cannot receive email here from external email. It’s best to email your teacher within this system. Your other alternative is to use your school board GSuite email.
Who do I contact if I have a technical issue?

above to request technical help. You will usually receive a response within a few hours at most. Providing a detailed description of the problem you are encountering will help to quickly resolve your issue. Include what device you are using, i.e. iPad, PC laptop, Mac laptop, etc., and what browser you are using, i.e. Chrome, Safari, etc. Note that Virtual Learning works best in Chrome or Safari. It is responsive on all devices from a full size computer to a phone.
