Throughout the past two years at Central Public School, Mme Natalie’s class facilitated a Cranes of Hope Campaign, to promote hope, strength, and unity throughout their community. This project saw the creation of thousands of paper origami cranes both in small and large-scale sizes.
These cranes have been distributed to individuals throughout the community, displayed at multiple local businesses throughout Kirkland Lake, and included within a spring box fundraiser by community organization, Handcrafts of Timiskaming.
In 2022, students’ paper cranes continue to make an impact and spread positive energy. To date, students at Central Public School have now created and distributed over three thousand handcrafted cranes.
