Students at Iroquois Falls Secondary School (IFSS) participated in a school-wide food drive these past few weeks. Students collected non-perishable food items in a variety of ways, including at a student-teacher hockey game organized by our student senators. Non-perishable food items were required as admission to the game.
The homeroom that collected the most non-perishable items are being rewarded with a pizza party. The homeroom winner was Mr. Robinson's class.
The school ended the food drive on November 25th with a community-wide door to door campaign. The goal was to fill the IFSS bus with donations for the local food bank. In addition to filling the bus, the school also collected $150 in monetary donations. Students were greeted with hot chocolate, soup and chilli when they returned to school.
IFSS would like to sincerely thank the Iroquois Falls community for donating generously and helping the school to reach their goal. The school is grateful for the incredible support from First Student Transportation, who provided two school buses to transport our student teams around town.
