DSB1 Hosts OMLTA Conference

October 31, 2018

On October 26th and 27th, DSB Ontario North East hosted the Ontario Modern Language Teacher's Association (OMLTA) Fall Conference in Timmins at Timmins High and Vocational School.

Attendees were treated to an intimate concert from Celeste Levis, local Franco-Ontarian artist on Friday evening. Saturday, teachers were able to select from a variety of French as a Second Language workshops as well as listening to three world renowned keynote speakers, Léo-James Lévesque, Denis Cousineau and Dr. Enrica Piccardo.

Our teachers were very fortunate to have this high caliber conference come to our community and were excited with the great learning opportunities that took place that day.  Congratulations go out as well to our own presenters, Instructional Coach Kelly-Ann Demers who presented "Bringing the French Outdoors", Teacher Kerri Mac Donald and Vice Principal Stephanie Clement who presented "Using Technology to Support CEFR Learning".
